Friends, there are a lot! Fasting, when done correctly, is one of the most effective yet simple methods of cleansing and rejuvenating the body.
For it to be labeled as “the greatest remedy-the physician within", fasting for health definitely is one method that definitely comes in very useful for overall improvement of one's well being.
However, as beneficial as fasting may be for health, being radical in nature, it is one factor that must be approached with care and caution. Not too much of it, but a significant degree of preparation and knowledge.
I've been discussing juice and water fasting in regards to improving health, however for the benefit of fasting; I want to set aside a different post.
In no particular order, here are the benefits you will get from fasting.
1. Fasting restores good digestion and elimination, and peristaltic action is quickened.
2. Fasting allows a deep, physiological rest of the digestive organs, and the energy saved goes into self-healing and self-repairing.
3. Fasting not only removes obstructions and helps the body to heal itself; it is also rejuvenating and life-extending.
It is by far a greater cure of our ills-both physical and mental-than all of the drugs of the medical fraternity combined and when combined with an exclusive mucus-binding (alkaline forming) diet of mainly fruits, leafy and root vegetables (raw and cooked) and even basic exercises that involve the use of one’s own body weight for resistance such as Yoga, Calisthenics and Pilates, a well conducted fast can reap untold benefits for those seeking to lose weight or improvement of a plethora of health conditions.
Well, that's saying a lot of what the benefits of fasting are as briefly as possible.
One thing I can guarantee you is it may perhaps be one of the most powerful things you may undertake in improving your health.
