Friends Pages: Calling Cards | International Calls | PBX System | Phone Cards | Conference Call | VoIP Service
Later that same night got an email from JDD Publishing and ‘knew’, with what Jim Daniels had in his 10 steps, I could get things to work out.

After struggling with an Internet business for nearly three years I finally realised something – it wasn’t the Internet that wasn’t working, - it was me. There is nothing wrong with the Internet. The internet works fine and people do make money on the internet. Not only that, but it is pretty straightforward, - if you do certain things then you get certain results. If you don’t get the results then you ain’t doing the right things.

The main thing is that it takes about two to three years to learn! It takes that long to figure out what business options are available, (product site, drop shipping, affiliate marketing etc), which business options you are best suited to, the best way for you to get a site up and running (Go-Daddy and Site-Build-It are highly rated) and, your marketing strategy.

Almost to the person, the ones who make the big bucks will tell you that it took them several years to “get it”. Once they “got it”, making money became an easy thing to do. All you need is a product (someone else’s will do) the passion to keep going (or a phone call from your bank) and some dedicated, focused performance.

If you are struggling with an Internet business then read on. You are going to make it, the first rule is “Don’t give up”, the second is “Don’t spend any more of your heard-earned cash" (let your Internet income pay for Internet purchases). The internet is a really interesting place and making money on the Internet is a test of your character. It ain’t rocket science. But, it is demanding, it is exacting, it is frustrating and it can consume massive amounts of your hard-earned cash.

So what? Are you tough enough to just hang in? Are you smart enough to learn from your mistakes and just keep going? Are you courageous enough to keep rebooting yourself until one day, it all comes together and works?

It can get a bit discouraging out there but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Heaps of people are making money on the Internet and it hasn’t reached full potential yet.

The real problem is, during the first few years you don’t know what you don’t know. Therefore, in an effort to find out, you fork out heaps buying every new thing that comes out just trying to find out. Amid the garbage, rip-offs and scams there are plenty of opportunities and there are ways to build good income streams.

Most of what you pay for is garbage, but some of what you buy is classic stuff. Even the classic stuff however, may not be right for you at that point in time, not yet anyway. I have purchased a number of products and programs that are fantastic but not in the same space as me at this point in time.

For instance, I purchased some great eBay training resources online. I went through the material, did a few quick purchases, got a good rating by sending (sales) and paying (purchases) quickly and made some money. I dropped it for two main reasons, I was working with a mate and got some signals that led me to end a five year friendship before any real damage was done, (JV’s can work but you can also loose your shirt), and I found that I couldn’t devote the time to researching what products to sell, where to resource them, and also, I didn’t like all the monitoring and follow-up required.

The point is, that didn’t make the product bad. It didn’t even make the decision to buy the product a bad one. It didn’t even make the decision to JV with a mate a bad decision because I got the clear indicators I wanted.

Actually, the decision to cut ties was probably the hardest part. We had been mates for about five years; we had worked together, drank a few beers together played music together, and had some good times. But, when money came into it, things changed. The last time that happened I lost a friend and my house, this time I ditched the relationship as soon as those clear indicators came to the surface and I protected my asset base.

Was it a mistake to ditch the friendship? It was just a part of the experience I had to go through to build up my knowledge. Now I know a little bit more about human nature than before and as much as I want about eBay at this point in time. I keep an eye on it, subscribe to some good newsletters, and watch some other auction and deal sites, poised and ready to pounce should the timing move into a window of opportunity for me.

Could I have moved forward without learning about eBay? The answer is yes. But, learning about eBay has deepened my appreciation of how the Internet works. One day I will use eBay in a strategy somewhere.

Unfortunately, there is no real way of knowing if a particular product is going to work for you at that point in time. I say at that point in time because, once you get your arsenal up, what works perfectly for one strategy and situation may not work at all for another strategy and situation. Eventually you get to know what weapons will work for you and what particular weapons and strategies to choose for a particular campaign.

The reason I “knew’ Jim Daniel’s product would work for me is that I simply got sick of trying new stuff, so I doubled back on some of the stuff in my PDF library and went through the top ones again. This brought all the fundamentals to ‘top of mind’ and re-jigged my mindset. The next step was to set up an affiliate marketing strategy using Jim’s product.

This process of doubling back over old material took me back to some of my first downloads about three years ago. This time however, I was reading at a different level. This time I was able to understand how the market was working behind what they were doing. I was sensing the energies and movements of the market itself.’

Sure the Internet has moved on and some things are different to how they were three years ago. However, the classics, the fundamentals and the energies of what works on the Internet haven’t changed a bit. You have to have a quality product, you have to get into the game, you have to understand your target audience, and you have to get enough of them to buy your product to appease the bank.

Why does Jim Daniel’s stuff work? Well, apart from it being a great concept, I have learned how to work it. There is a difference between someone telling you how something works and you learning how it works. Ultimately, no-one can teach you how it works, you have to learn.

So where to from here? If you have been around a while, go back to your top three PDF downloads (choose at least one about working with your mindset) and work through them again, then visit the site and click on the golden key. If you are a newbie, go to the site and click on the golden key anyway, Jim has done all the hard set-up.
