With the same crystalline structure, it has the same look as sugar, and tastes just like it too. Even more important though is its use as a 5 carbon sugar as a cleansing ingredient that is able to effectively cleanse the bacteria that cling to the nostril wall, which impedes one to breathe normally. It is similar to the structure of sugar, but the 5 carbon difference is what makes it able to kill the bacteria.
Here is how it works:
Bacteria consume Xylitol, but because of Xylitol’s difference in structure, the bacteria cannot metabolize it and eventually dies.
