Housing for low- and moderate-income families can be a great asset to communities, especially when it offers life-enriching services such as computer learning centers or senior centers.
One way to know if a community's affordable housing makes the grade is to apply standards of excellence set by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). This association supports the development and preservation of decent and safe affordable housing.
NAHMA provides a database of Communities of Quality properties that have achieved a high standard of excellence in the way they are managed, the services they provide, and the excellence and training of personnel. You can search the database by city, state, property name or management company to see if prospective housing has recommended qualities.

How does your community's affordable housing rate? A registry offers valuable information on who makes the grade. |
