The Clemson Tigers were at home against the Florida Atlantic Owls this week and the Tigers were licking their chops. Talk about a soft game. This game featured a steady diet of scoring by the Clemson Tigers. In the first quarter, they got a field goal pretty early to go up 3-0. As time wound down in the first quarter, they added their first TD score of the day. At the end of the first, it was 10-0 Clemson.

The 2nd quarter was more of the same. Mid way through, Reggie Merriweather ran in a TD from one yard out. Again, as time wound down, Wil Proctor connected on a 14 yard TD strike to Aaron Kelly. The Tigers had a commanding 24-0 lead at the half. The Owls opened up the second half with a pair of field goals to make the game interesting—for a moment. However, the Clemson Tigers responded with two more touchdowns and a commanding 38-6 lead going into the 4th quarter.

The Owls were done scoring, but not the Tigers. They added 16 more points to their already blowout score. The Clemson Tigers crushed the Florida Atlantic Owls 54-6. The Tigers did it with 372 yards of total offense. Their attack was very balanced. They had 173 yards through the air and 199 yards on the ground. They made the most of their yards. The Owls, on the other hand, could only muster two field goals for their 263 yards of total offense.

The Tigers defense held the Owls in check all day. Owls QB Sean Clayton completed half of his passes—11 of 22—for 112 yards and an interception. Charles Pierce gained the most yards on the ground for the Owls. He had 8 carries for 31 yards. His longest run was only for 7 yards. He finished with a 3.9 yards per carry average.

Clemson QB Will Proctor was 13 of 20 for 166 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. He threw touchdowns to three different receivers—Chansi Stuckey, Rendrick Taylor, and Aaron Kelly. It's also worth noting that Jacoby Ford ran back a punt 92 yards for a touchdown. The Clemson Tigers were so dominate that they didn’t punt once. Next week the Clemson Tigers travel to face Boston College, which should be a little more of a challenge. However, they could get caught looking ahead as they have to travel to Seminole land to take on Florida State the following week.
