Do you remember the intense moments we had watching day by day the world cup games?, and not only the games, we saw how some of the well-known protagonists of those games took our breath away.
As the scenery of the World Cup was Germany, who can forget the great performance of their team’s goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who helped them to reach one of the best places of the tournament.
The international player has confirmed that he will retire after the 2008 European championship in Austria and Switzerland. The soccer player will be 38 at that time and he expressed that will be a right moment in his life for the retirement.
Lehmann also said that his main ambition was to play in a World Cup and he already achieved that. The goalkeeper affirmed that if he was 30 everything will be different but at 36 he has achieved a lot and with the European championship in 2008, it will be more than enough.
Jens was first choice to represent Germany at the last World Cup, competing for the place with Oliver Kahn. Actually his coach really trusted on him and Lehmann demonstrated his skills at the quarter-final penalty shoot-out win over Argentina becoming the hero of the match.
Definitely the Arsenal and the Germany national team won be the same without Lehmann after his presence at the last World Tournament which was really impressive and with such a talent, fans and teammates really will miss him.
