Everyone has a little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other. These are the positive and negative, true and untrue, processes of the mind.

When ever we are faced with a dilemma we are given a number of choices on how to deal with it. Our conscience (our true desires) will always provide us with the proper way to deal with the situation and our weakness (temptations etc.) will always provide us with a multitude of other options. 9 times out of 10 what we know is the right thing to do seems much harder and the other options seem much easier. But what is easier and more convenient short term will almost always make things more difficult in the long run.

For example, let us say you are addicted to cigarettes. It is much easier to have a smoke right now than it is to say no. But smoking, in the long run, will make it harder to pay your bills, do the physical activities you enjoy, and your love life will suffer because you'll smell bad. You would have been much better off to do one seemingly difficult task and just say no in the first place.

The negative processes are a trap. They trick you into thinking you're making things easier for yourself. As you pay attention to the negative, it's influence on you strengthens. The easiest way to make sure it doesn't lure you into it's trap is to dismiss it immediately. Keep the positive in mind and it will make the negative laughable. You will know, beyond any doubt, what is right and you will be far to sure of it to have some silly little devil trick you. Every time you say yes to the positive process it gets easier the next time and harder to say yes to the negative. This is conversely true so the best thing you can do is to start making good choices right away. Always ask yourself this question: "Our my actions a reflection of my true desires?".

You must train yourself to be impeccable with your actions, always aware of responsibility and consequences, and develop a "big-picture" attitude. Because your actions are a direct result of your thoughts, it would make sense to start thinking in this way.

It will be difficult at first but after a while it will become a breeze. You will always be making the right choice because it will actually be harder for you to make the wrong choice. So start with something simple like your diet or your posture. When you notice you are slouching or about to eat something unhealthy just suck it up and do the right thing. Remember, every time you make the right choice the wrong choice gets more and more unnoticeable, until it's faded completely out of existence.

Getting in the habit of making the right choices will help your business and any other area of your life immensely. You can get rid of all those excuses that hinder your success and start making real progress.
