How can military servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan find health, disability and job placement benefits that meet their needs?

That's an important question AMVETS will pose to thousands of veterans during the National Symposium for the Needs of Young Veterans. Participants in the Oct. 18-21 event, keynoted by retired Army General Tommy Franks and featuring country music stars Lee Greenwood and Darryl Worley, will make recommendations to improve specific health care, disability and job- training programs for veterans. The employment rights of military personnel will also be examined, as well as the causes of homelessness among veterans. Benefits for National Guard and Reserve will also be sought.

AMVETS will use these recommendations to form an action plan to improve the nation's veterans benefit system. More information is available at www.veterans nationalsymposium.org. Or call 1-877-7AMVETS to learn more about the Symposium. An upcoming symposium asks if America's veterans are getting the benefits they need and deserve.
