It was quite about artifical intelligence until now.
Of course test cases have been worked out. But it was done on an academic level, or it was a very expensive (oil industry) case.
What is also not available is a good presentation of intelligence.
The company MIBS has developed a new technology based on artificial intelligence and
has build a presentation layer with the same technology.
The analysis consist of defining the rules of a system. Once those rules where described,
the company has build a technique to translate those rules into simple programs.
The first application is the project planner based on this new technology is now available since 30/07/06.
The analysis was defining rules of a planning.
Then translation of those rules into simple programs has been done.
First some terminology so the reader can better understand what comes:- Activity : is the splitup of the project or activity. Examples are:
- design of the project
- design of the customer invoice project
- design the customer overall process.
- Task : basic function in a project, examples are:
- create specification for customer invoice initerface
- develop a progran based on the customer invoice interface specification.
- create specification for develop a progran based on the customer conversion specification.
- develop a progran based on the customer conversion specification.
The result is (combination of Excel and Access programs) the most powerful project planner in the world.
Examples of this power are:- there is 1 (Start) date in the input excel sheet (plus the number of workdays of the tasks).
All other dates are calculated based on the start date and the workdays. mentioned in the tasks.
- This planner plans in the most efficent way respecting the project rules if the project manager
- This planner respect the company holidays
- This planner contains a project eveluator (flags)
- Dynamic drill down in your output with the overview report buttons
- The ouput is produced in less then 60 seconds
The presentation layer uses the same technology as artificial intelligence, the result is the same: a very good presentation of the project planning results.
Those reports are very easy to understand, so that every team member can evaluate his reportpart without problems.
In fact everyone who is involved in the project can understand those reports.
After the project planner there will come other applications based on this technology like MRP and cost analyses.
In fact MIBS has the intension to distribute this new technology on the web, so others can also build applications based on this technology.
