A lot of men and women are now on the road to a rewarding and challenging career, thanks to the high demand for sales, service, management and administrative personnel in automotive retailing.
A survey of franchised new-car dealers found that more than 104,000 employees are currently needed around the country.
The South Atlantic, Pacific and Midwestern states are the areas with the greatest needs. Sales and technicians were in the highest demand.
"The careers available in today's franchised auto dealership are intellectually challenging with room for advancement," said Carter Myers, Chairman of Auto Retailing Today (ART). "Pay and demand for these positions are high, and these are careers that cannot be sent overseas."
